Today we had a visit from a tutor by the name of Craig Green, he gave a talk on Proxy server. we then entered the web address. en//wikipedia.org/wiki/proxy server.

Proxy Server=( A computor system or an Application Programe) that services the request of its clients by forwarding to other servers.
A server that passes all requests and replies unmodified is usually called a gateway or sometimes tunnelling proxy.
Caching Proxy Server= accelerates service requests by retrieving content saved from a
previous requests made by the client or other clients.
Web Proxy=Focuses on www traffic. The most common use of a web proxy is to serve as a Web Cache. Most proxy programes(eg Squid) act as a means to deny access to certain U.R.Ls in a blacklist, thus providing content filtering.
A Content filtering= provides administrative control over content that may be relayed through the Proxy commonly used in commercial and non commercial organizations(especially schools) to ensure that usage conforn to acceptable use policy.
